This specimen was lot 73007 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "NIUE. 2 Dollars, 2017. New Zealand (Aukland) Mint. Elizabeth II. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. One of the first 100 struck. Star Wars series: Obi-Wan Kenobi. Exceedingly frosted and argent, this tremendous example radiates with all of the allure that the light side can offer. Includes information card and certificate of authenticity #00001." Wikipedia comments,
"Niue is a self-governing state in free association with New Zealand, and New Zealand conducts most diplomatic relations on its behalf. As part of the Realm of New Zealand, Niueans are citizens of New Zealand and Charles III is Niue's head of state in his capacity as King of New Zealand. Between 90% and 95% of Niuean people live in New Zealand."
The New Zealand mint is a private mint, whose website states,
