Niue 2017 250 dollars
This specimen was lot 73005 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $3,120. The catalog description[1] noted, "NIUE. 250 Dollars, 2017. New Zealand (Aukland) Mint. Elizabeth II. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. One of the first 150 struck. Star Wars series: Obi-Wan Kenobi. A flawless example with intense frosting upon the devices and mirroring in the fields, there is no need to worry about this piece playing any Jedi mind tricks on you--it is undoubtedly the gold coin that you're looking for. Includes information card and certificate of authenticity #001." Wikipedia comments,
"Niue is a self-governing state in free association with New Zealand, and New Zealand conducts most diplomatic relations on its behalf. As part of the Realm of New Zealand, Niueans are citizens of New Zealand and Charles III is Niue's head of state in his capacity as King of New Zealand. Between 90% and 95% of Niuean people live in New Zealand."
The New Zealand mint is a private mint, whose website states,
