This specimen was lot 42069 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Newfoundland. Cent, 1929. Ottawa Mint. George V. PCGS SPECIMEN-65 Red. A blazing red Specimen, with entrancing luster, sharp details, and a nearly mint fresh appearance." Six dates exist of this type struck 1913-36. It is the last large cent struck in North America, Canada having dropped large cents in 1920 and the United States in 1857. The proofs bear a "C" mintmark.
Recorded mintage: 300,000 plus proofs.
Specifications: 5.67 g, bronze, 25.47 mm diameter, plain edge.
