This specimen was lot 3700 in Goldberg sale 104 (Los Angeles, June 2018), where it sold for $108. The catalog description[1] noted, "Canada - Newfoundland. 50 Cents, 1900. Victoria. PCGS graded EF-45." This type was struck at Heaton and London 1870-1900 for Newfoundland and is slightly heavier than the contemporary Canadian fifty cents. Struck in small numbers and exposed to long circulation, it is very rare in nice condition. Proofs exist.

Recorded mintage: 150,000 (highest mintage date).

Specification: 11.78 g, 0.925 fine silver, .350 troy oz ASW.
