This specimen was lot 73338 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "NEW ZEALAND. Christchurch. Copper Penny Token, ND (1857). PCGS MS-63 Brown. Featuring an intricate, slight profile view of a Maori warrior, this type is often referred to as the "Christchurch Medal" and offers deep brown surfaces and an overall very choice appearance."
