Netherlands East Indies 1802 gulden
This specimen was lot 628 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $3,327.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MALAY ARCHIPELAGO, Colonial. Nederlands-Oost-Indië (Netherlands East Indies). Bataafse Republiek (Batavian Republic). 1799-1806. AR Gulden. Enkhuizen mint; im: star. Dated 1802. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 66. Highest ever graded. Purchased from Paul Davis, January 1971." This specimen sold for ten times the catalog value.
