This issue of king Tribhuvana Bir Bikram (r. 1911-50) is listed for VS 1989 only. The similar KM 718 was struck VS 1989-2005 with different style characters in the date. The price is the same. No date is given a premium, more likely due to lack of interest than any variation in rarity. Nepal was and is an independent nation between India and Tibet but under the strong influence of the British raj. Some coins are dated using the Saka Era (SE) and others using the Bikram Samvat Era (VS).
