This specimen was lot 3059 in Sincona sale 80 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 900 CHF (about US$1,079 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "NEPAL, Tribhuvana, Bir Bikram, 1911-1950. Tola VS1987 (1930). PCGS MS63." This issue of king Tribhuvana Bir Bikram (r. 1911-50) is listed for VS 1969-2003 (common era 1912-46). No date is given a premium, more likely due to lack of interest than any variation in rarity. The gold mohar is of similar design but is only 5.60 g. Nepal was and is an independent nation between India and Tibet but under the strong influence of the British raj.
