This specimen was lot 23318 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "NEPAL. Shah Dynasty. Paisa, VS 1975 (1918). PCGS SPECIMEN-63 Brown Gold Shield. Quite SCARCE. Boldly struck with attractive brown surfaces, one small area of dark tone." The SCWC notes that KM 686 is probably a pattern. Its successor, KM 687, was issued 1918-26 in several subtypes.
