This specimen was lot 1190 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "MÜNSTER: AR 1/24 thaler, 1801, mintmaster CF, PCGS graded MS63, ex Don Erickson Collection." The occasion of the death of bishop Maximilian Franz in 1801 marked the last issue of coinage from this state. Along with this groschen, a quarter thaler, half thaler (KM 212) and single thaler (Dav-733) were issued. All of the ecclesiastical states were mediatized by Napoleon and handed over to his allies in 1800-06. Munster was partitioned between Oldenburg, Hannover and Prussia.
