The first specimen was lot 2384 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Shah Alam Bahadur, 1707-1712, AR 1/2 rupee, Surat, DM, an attractive nearly mint state example, PCGS graded AU58." The second specimen was lot 2385 in the same sale, where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Shah Alam Bahadur, 1707-1712, AR 1/2 rupee, Surat, year 1(1707), a lustrous example, cleaned, PCGS graded Unc details." This type was struck at Surat years 1 and 6 and is common as half rupees go. Half rupees are much scarcer than whole rupees.
