Mozambique 1960 20 escudos

This issue was minted in Lisbon 1952, 1955 and 1960 for the Portuguese colony of Mozambique. It was the first coin of its denomination. The coin is common. This coin was issued just before the beginning of the war for independence. The Portuguese withdrew in 1975, triggering a multifactional war that continued for decades.
