The first specimen was lot 11408 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 100,000 Pesos Pattern, 1990-Mo. NGC PROOF-67 CAMEO. cf.KM-Pn245. Struck in silver." The second specimen was lot 24279 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[2] noted, "MEXICO. Aluminum 100000 Pesos Pattern, 1990-Mo. Mexico City Mint. ANACS PROOF-65 Cameo. A VERY RARE Pattern, bright and attractive with deep mirrored fields and frosty devices. Some streaks appear on the reverse, from the original planchet." The SCWC lists this pattern in bronze, not silver. This piece may have been struck on request for favored insiders. Plutarco Calles was president of Mexico 1928-34 and represents the transition between Obregon and Cardenas.

Specification: the first specimen is silver, the second specimen is aluminum.
