This coin was minted in Mexico City to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the struggle for independence (hence the bust of Miguel Hidalgo, martyr of the struggle for independence from Spain) and the fiftieth anniversary of the outbreak of the Revolution (hence the bust of Francisco Madero). The type was extensively saved and is readily available but recent rises in the price of silver have increased the price of this coin.

Recorded mintage: 1,000,000.

Specification: 28.88 g, 0.900 fine silver, .835 troy oz ASW, 40 mm diameter.
