This specimen was lot 40293 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 50 Pesos, 1926. NGC MS-62 Secure Holder." This coin was minted in Mexico City in 1925. The type was struck 1921-47 along with a silver two pesos. No date is rare but the 1921 obtains a slight premium. It is commonly nicknamed the "Centenario."
