This specimen was lot 40292 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $2,300. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 50 Pesos, 1925. PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder." This coin was minted in Mexico City in 1925. The type was struck 1921-47 along with a silver two pesos. No date is rare but the 1921 obtains a slight premium.

Recorded mintage: 716,000.

Specification: 41.66 g, 0.900 fine gold, 1.205 oz AGW.
