This specimen was lot 45418 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Peso, 1904-Mo AM. Mexico City Mint. NGC MS-62. A boldly struck with somewhat flashy luster and virtually no toning." This silver peso superseded the cap-and-ray eight reales and was struck 1898-1905 and 1908-09. The Porfirio Diaz government closed several branch mints so that only Culiacan, Guanajuato, Zacatecas and Mexico City struck this type. Only the Mexico City mint remained open after 1905.
