Mexico 1902-Mo M 20 pesos
This specimen was lot 21226 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $5,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 20 Pesos, 1902-Mo M. PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder. Single finest certified of the date at PCGS with one other at NGC in the same grade. Sharply struck with lovely satiny surfaces and frosted devices. Light attractive honey-gold tone throughout. Though a common date the present example clearly is not the norm for this issue. Sure to excite even the most advanced of collectors." Shown is an 1902MOM balance scale twenty pesos, of a type struck 1870-1905. This issue from Mexico City is among the more available dates. Other mints include Hermosillo, Culiacan, Durango, Zacatecas, Chihuahua, Guanajuato and Alamos.
