This specimen was lot 72355 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Cob 1/2 Real, 1620-Mo D. Mexico City Mint. Philip III. PCGS VF-25." The SCWC mentions this type for 1609-10, 1614 and 1620 and notes 1618-31 with assayer "D". Some were surely made every year but almost none have legible dates, rendering them of little interest to collectors.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 1.69 g, 0.931 fine silver, this specimen 1.55 g.
