This specimen was lot 72351 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Cob 2 Reales, 1612-Mo F. Mexico City Mint. Philip III. PCGS Genuine--Scratch, VF Details." The SCWC mentions this type for 1607-09, 1611, 1613, 1616, 1620 and 1622 and notes 1610-17 with assayer "F". Few of these early cobs have legible dates. Cayón notes a 1612/0 overdate.
