This specimen was lot 1166 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Mantua. 80 Sol (1/2 Ducatone), ND (1627-37). Carlo I Gonzaga (1629-37). PCGS Genuine--Cleaning, AU Details Secure Holder. A RARE type that is EXTREMELY RARE in this state of preservation. The surfaces show some evidence of old cleaning, now toned, otherwise essentially a mint state coin. Accompanied by old coin ticket in German dated 1905." The SCWC notes that this design was used on the contemporary forty soldi (KM 164), also rare.
