This specimen was lot 3692 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €500 (about US$674 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"MAINZ, ERZBISTUM, Konrad III. von Dhaun, 1419-1434. Goldgulden o. J. (1420-1421), Höchst. GOLD. Sehr schön. (Germany, archbishopric of Mainz, Konrad III of Dhaun, 1419-34, undated goldgulden. Very fine.)"
Friedberg lists this type for the Bingen and Hoechst mints. The archbishops of Mainz were prolific issuers of gold coins in the late middle ages but output dropped in the late fifteenth century, never to recover. This type comes without dates.
