Künker sale 354, lot 5217

This specimen was lot 5217 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €2,000 (about US$2,784 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"MAINZ, ERZBISTUM, Adolph I. von Nassau, 1373-1390. Goldgulden o. J. (1385/1386), Bingen. GOLD. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, archbishopric of Mainz, Adolf of Nassau, 1373-90, undated goldgulden, Bingen mint. Very fine to extremely fine.)"

This archbishop issued a number of goldgulden during his reign of which this seems to be the most common altho none are cheap.
