Macao 1983 100 patacas

from Stack's Bowers 2016 ANA sale, lot 22660

This specimen was lot 22660 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MACAU. 100 Patacas, 1983. Lunar Series, Year of the Pig. NGC PROOF-67 ULTRA CAMEO. Mintage of 2,500. Glossy watery fields with a hint of reverse fog. A fully original example of this low mintage desirable issue." This type was issued along with a gold one thousand patacas (KM 28) to honor the animals of the Chinese zodiac.

Recorded mintage: 2,500 plus 2,500 proofs.

Specification: 28.28 g, 0.925 fine silver, .835 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM-27, Gomes 36.01 (proof) or Gomes 36.02 (uncirculated).
