Luzern 1787 rappen
This specimen was lot 5361 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$226 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ. Luzern. Stadt und Kanton. Rappen 1787, Luzern. Silberabschlag. Sehr selten. Leicht gewellt. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Luzern, rappen of 1787, Luzern mint, struck in silver. Very rare, Slightly wavy flan, Very Fine.)"
This type was struck in copper 1774, 1787-89, 1795-96, 1804 and in silver this year only altho we shown a 1774 rappen in silver elsewhere. One thaler was forty batzen and one batzen was ten rappen.
