This type was struck 1954, 1957, 1960, 1963-72 and all dates are common. They were struck for Luxembourg (Letzeburg in the local dialect) at the Brussels mint. A few made with medal alignment by mistake obtain a premium. They were demonetized when Luxembourg adopted the euro in 2002.
Recorded mintage: 4,000,000.
Specification: 0.76 g, aluminum, 19 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Nina-Victorine Lefèvre and Julien Lefèvre.
