Lubeck 1672 32 schilling
This specimen was lot 5313 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €300 (about US$388 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"LÜBECK, STADT, 32 Schilling 1672, 1731, 1752, mit den Abzeichen der Bürgermeister Matthäus Rodde, Heinrich Balemann und Heinrich Rust. 3 Stück., Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (city of Lubeck, 32 schillings of 1672, 1731 and 1732. Three pieces, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was struck in 1672 only and the lucky winner of this lot obtained a bargain. Thalers, originally 32 schilling, rose to 48 schilling during the seventeenth century, making this coin a two-thirds thaler.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
