Künker sale 335, lot 4023

This specimen was lot 4023 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €320 (about US$419 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"LÜBECK, STADT. Reichstaler (32 Schilling) 1581, mit Titel Rudolfs II. und dem Abzeichen des Bürgermeisters Johann Brokes. Sehr schön. (Germany, city of Lubeck, thaler of 1581, in the name of Rudolf II and the badge of mayor John Brokes. Very fine.)"

Davenport lists this type for 1579-85 and 1587-89. A double thaler (Dav-9410) also exists.
