This specimen was lot 3174 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "LOMBARDY-VENETIA: Franz Joseph II, 1848-1866, AE 5 centesimi, 1849-M, Milan Mint, a wonderful mostly red lustrous example! PCGS graded MS64 BN." This was struck at Milan in 1849-50. One hundred centesimi made a lira and six lire made a scudo. At the Congress of Vienna, Venice, Milan and Mantua were merged into the kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia and awarded to Austria. Lombardy fell to Sardinia in 1859 and Venetia to Italy in 1866.
