Künker sale 336, lot 6004

This specimen was lot 6004 in Künker sale 336 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €800 (about US$1,047 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BALTIKUM, LITAUEN, Republik. 100 Litu 2000. Großfürst Vytautas der Große. 7,78 g Feingold. GOLD. Polierte Platte. (republic of Lithuania, one hundred litu of 2000, for Vytautas the Great. Proof.)"

An NCLT struck to honor grand duke Vytautas the Great, who ruled 1392-1430. The portrait's features are conjectural.

Recorded mintage: 2,000 proofs.

Specification: 7.78 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.250 troy oz AGW, 22.3 mm diameter, lettered edge.
