SB224-75372r.jpg

This specimen was lot 75372 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "LIBERIA. Silver 20 Dollars Piefort, 1983. PCGS SPECIMEN-68. International Year of Disabled Persons issue. A stunning example, just a hint of toning and haze prevent what would otherwise be a flawless designation." This denomination was used for several NCLT's in 1983. This is the piefort version. We presume it's double weight but we don't know for sure.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: regular issue is 28.28 g, 0.925 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM 48 (regular issue), KM-P2 (piefort).
