This specimen was part of lot 593 in Künker Auction 424 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €55 (about US$78 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · LEUCHTENBERG, LANDGRAFSCHAFT Georg III., 1531-1555. 1) Batzen 1534, Pfreimd. und 3,73 g. Münzmeister Hans Schulmeister. The landgrave of Leuchtenberg was a considerable power in the Upper Palatinate in the Middle Ages but never succeeded in becoming a direct suffragan of the emperor. When the dynasty lapsed in 1646, the landgraviate was annexed to Bavaria, where it remains to this day. This type is listed for 1533-35 and is the most common batzen of this state. One thaler was fifteen batzen.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.31-4.29 g, silver or billon, 26 mm diameter; this specimen 3,46 g.
