This specimen was lot 2250 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "LEININGEN-DAGSBURG-HARTENBURG: Karl Friedrich Wilhelm, 1756-1807, AR 6 kreuzer, Darmstadt, 1805, one-year type, NGC graded AU50." The landgraviate of Leiningen, already a petty state, was subdivided several times in the sixteenth century. This prince issued coins (pfenning thru six kreuzer) only in 1804-05, after his domain had been seized by France. After the Congress of Vienna, the area became part of the Bavarian Pfalz.
