from the Stack's Bowers 2018 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71161

This specimen was lot 71161 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "LEBANON. Piastre, 1931. PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder. Struck in Paris (privy mark on reverse). Good strike, toned with some luster remaining." This one piastre was struck in Paris for Lebanon in 1925, 1931, 1933 and 1936. This is a better date.

Recorded mintage: 300,000.

Specification: 5 g, copper-nickel, 24 mm diameter.
