Kwangtung Province (now Guangdong) is on the south coast of China, and surrounds Hong Kong and Macau. The mint in the city of Guangzhou (Canton) opened in 1888 and issued a large number of coins until closure in 1931.

The specimen shown was lot 21595 in Ponterio sale 165 (Hong Kong, April 2012), where it sold for US$3585. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Kwangtung. 10 Cents, Year 11 (1922). NGC MS-65. 民國十一年廣東省造壹毫銀幣。 From the Collection of a Prominent Southern California Collector."
