This specimen was lot 53321 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Kwangtung. 10 Cash, CD (1908). PCGS MS-64 Red Brown Gold Shield. Mostly red with a spot of verdigris on the reverse, this near-Gem hints at some brilliance emanating from the protected areas." This type was struck 1906-08 and was formerly considered common.

Recorded mintage: 62,736,000.

Specification: 6.5 g, copper, 28.1 mm diameter.
