Kiangsu-Kiangsoo Province is located on the east coast of China. Modern mint equipment was installed in the Soochow mint in 1898, and another mint was opened in 1904. Both mints ceased production in 1906.
The specimen shown was lot 60345 in Ponterio sale 162 (Hong Kong, August 2011), where it sold for $5079. The catalog description[1] noted, “CHINA. Kiangsu. 10 Cash, CD (1902). 江蘇省造光緒元寶每元當制錢十文。Mule, Reverse:Y-135. 錯配。背"KIANG-NAN"。NGC XF-40 BN. Ex: The Frank Robinson Collection.”
