Kiangnan (Jiangnan) Province is situated south of the Yangtze River. It encompasses several well-known cities, such as Nanjing and Shanghai. Mints operated at many times, with a modern facility built in 1897. Later, other mints for copper and silver coins were opened in Shanghai and other cities.

The specimen shown was lot 60336 in Ponterio sale 162 (Hong Kong, August 2011), where it sold for $4,780. The catalog description[1] noted, " CHINA. Kiangnan. 10 Cash, ND (ca. 1902). 江南省造光緒元寶每元當制錢十文。Y-135; CCC-199; Hsu-105; Duan-0498. Reverse die rotated ninety degrees. 逆背九十度。NGC MS-64 BN. Ex: The Frank Robinson Collection."
