Hupeh Province is located in east-central China. The mint was active from the early Manchu dynasty, and adapted for modern coin mintage in 1895.

The specimen shown was lot 21423 in Ponterio sale 165 (Hong Kong, April 2012), where it sold for US$1,106. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Kiangnan. 1 Mace 4.4 Candareens (20 Cents), CD (1904). 甲辰江南省造光緒元寶一錢四分四厘銀幣。Initials "HAH" and "TH". "HAH" 及 "TH"版。NGC AU-50."
