This specimen was lot 2110 in Sincona sale 13 (Zürich, October 2013), where it sold for 1,600 CHF (about US$2,070 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "DEUTSCHLAND, Kempten, Stadt, Taler zu 72 Kreuzer 1552. Fast vorzüglich. Ex. Coll. Huntington, Nr. 1503." This type is noted for 1552-54. Varieties exist. The city was annexed to Bavaria in 1803.
