Sincona sale 47, lot 1963

This specimen was lot 1963 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$180 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"THE NETHERLANDS, Kampen, Stadt, Dukaton 1668. Sehr schön. (Netherlands, city of Kampen, ducaton of 1668. Very fine.)"

This fairly common ducaton is listed for 1659-82 with various mint marks. A very rare double ducaton (Dav-A4945) exists.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 32.78 g, 0.941 fine silver, .991 troy oz ASW, obliquely reeded edge, this specimen 32.22 g.
