This hundred yen was struck in conjunction with the Tokyo Olympic Games of 1964 along with the regular 100 yen (KM Y78, issued 1959-66). Hoarded for its silver, it is today common.

Recorded mintage: 80,000,000.

Specification: 4.8 g, 0.600 fine silver, 22.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
