Japan 1946 (S21) 10 sen

This specimen was struck for Japan by the Tokyo mint, which issued this type 1945-46. Until 1907, the ten sen was a silver coin the size of a dime. It was copper-nickel 1920-32, pure nickel 1933-37, aluminum bronze 1938-40 and aluminum 1940-43. The denomination was terminated after this issue, the victim of inflation and the disaster of World War Two.
