This specimen was lot 71170 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAPAN. 50 Sen, Year 5 (1930). PCGS MS-66 Gold Shield. A wonderfully toned Gem offering tremendous color, this piece is rather difficult in such a lofty status, with just four graded finer in the PCGS census."
