This type was struck 1880-92 in large numbers and is common in circulated condition. It varied from the prior type (KM Y17.1) of 1873-77 in the shape of the scales on the dragon's body. A "large 4" variety is listed as scarce. This weight standard was used until 1915.
Recorded mintage: 16,123,612, a somewhat better date.
Specification: 7.13 g, copper, 27.9 mm diameter.
