This type was struck by the Royal Mint for Jamaica in 1969-72, 1975-89. It used the module of the old copper-nickel sixpence of the sterling coinage system. The Franklin mint also produced this denomination with narrow letters (KM 53) in 1971-84.
Recorded mintage: 12,008,000 plus 30,000 proofs.
Specification: 2.83 g, copper-nickel, reeded edge, 19.4 mm diameter.
