Jamaica 1919-C penny
This specimen was lot 1873 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 38 (Winter Park, FL, November 2025), where it sold for $96. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAMAICA, copper-nickel penny, George V, 1919-C, NGC MS 65, ex-Rudman. Tied with six others for second finest in the NGC census behind a single coin in MS 66. Lustrous piece with some tan toning on the reverse. Pedigreed to the Isaac Rudman Collection." The official coinage of Jamaica begins with issues of copper-nickel farthings, half pennies and pennies during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901). These denominations were continued into the reign of George V where this type was struck 1914-20 and 1926-28. This one was struck at Ottawa. Despite the limited mintages, none are rare.
