This specimen was lot 857 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAGERNDORF: Johann Georg von Brandenburg-Ansbach, 1607-1623, AR 3 kreuzer (groschen), 1611, nicely toned, PCGS graded MS62." Jägerndorf, along with Troppau, was in the uppermost (southern) part of Silesia, a province under Austrian rule 1526-1740. Most of Silesia was seized and annexed by Frederick the Great in the Seven Years War but Troppau and Jägerndorf remained Austrian and are now Czech instead of Polish. Jägerndorf was held by the margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach when this coin was issued 1610-21. After the margrave's death in 1623, it passed to the direct rule of the emperor, who granted it to the princes of Liechtenstein.
