Ponterio sale 169, lot 10546

This specimen was lot 10546 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $1,087. The catalog description^[1] noted, "ITALY. 20 Centesimi, 1934-R. NGC MS-65. From a mintage of only 50 pieces. From the Demarete Collection." This type was issued in large numbers 1908-14 and 1919-22 but mintages for 1926-35 were for presentation only, much like the twenty lire. The SCWC only lists these late issues in uncirculated.
