This specimen was lot 22245 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $212. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. 10 Lire, 1929-R. PCGS AU-53 Secure Holder." This type was struck 1926-34 in large numbers but is today very scarce, probably the result of melting. This is among the more available dates but is not common. This variety has edge lettering spelled "**FERT**" whereas the other (KM 68.1) has "*FERT*".
Recorded mintage: 6,800,000.
Specification: 10 g, 0.835 fine silver, 27 mm diameter, lettered edge.
